With the release of Age of Empires 3 DE I figure its a good time to create a thread about one of the most popular RTS series of all time

To start it off I personally am enjoying the Swedes and the Portuguese. I played a game as the Lakota (formally the Sioux) and they are really fun.

Who are your favorite civs or maps or strats in any of the games?

So the November update is coming out soon for Aoe2 de. They are changing up the civ selection UI so that the differences between each faction are clear just by hovering over the coat of arms for each civ. Apparently a pretty massive amount of balance changes are coming as well. I have no idea what they are planning to buff and nerf, as someone who enjoys these games pretty casually the balance isn't always clear, but I would rather see more civs brought up rather than nerfed.

also people of the AOE forums are arguing that Swedes need a nerf which is wrong and heresy and if you suggest that I will change your username to something not flattering.
